Education and Learning
The Langholm Initiative have a long history of using the Langholm Moor as an outdoor classroom, and following the creation of the Tarras Valley Nature Reserve, we are continuing to provide engaging environmental and outdoor education sessions to local schools.
John Muir Awards
The John Muir Award is an environmental award scheme, focussed on wild spaces. It supports and encourages people to connect with, enjoy and care for wildlife, landscapes, and the natural environment.
To Discover, Explore, Conserve and Share the Tarras Valley Nature Reserve, we run sessions where groups can explore the habitats in the reserve, plant trees, build nest boxes, and much more!
You can find out more about each of the award groups by clicking the buttons below!
Interested in visiting the reserve?
We are currently working with local primary schools and young people around Langholm, but would like to expand this in future. If you work in a school, or with a youth group, and would like to get in touch about a possible school visit to the reserve, please contact us at hello@tarrasvalleynaturereserve.org
